We were nervous too.
ThinkQuantum came from the same place many business owners are standing now: curious about AI, wary of the noise around it, and very aware that ignoring it was no longer a sensible option.
Two business partners, a long working relationship, and a practical reason to learn fast.
ThinkQuantum is led by Dan and Jess: two people who have worked together for a long time across real businesses, not from the safe distance of a conference stage.
Our background has always had technology running through it. Long before AI was a boardroom topic, the things that caught our attention were music, hi-fi, cinema rooms, smart homes, and the careful installation of technology that has to work properly in the real world. Today that practical streak runs through Hidden Home Technology in Bath, where we design and install cinema rooms and smart home systems, alongside the other ventures we are involved in.
So when AI began to move from curiosity to everyday business tool, we paid attention. Not because it sounded fashionable, but because it was clear very quickly that the ground was shifting.
Twenty-five years running technology businesses in Bath. Director of Hidden Home Technology.
Dan's business partner — a long working relationship across those same businesses.
We did not end up with more spare time. We ended up doing far more with the time we already had.
At first, like many people, we were nervous about what AI might mean — for work, for the wider world, and for us personally. But once we started learning what the tools could actually do, the conversation changed.
The benefits were not theoretical. We began to see work move faster. Documents that used to take hours became first drafts in minutes. Admin that used to sit around could be processed. Thinking that used to need a blank afternoon could be started properly between meetings.
The irony is that AI does not necessarily give you a quiet life. It gives you a larger one. You may not gain hours of empty space, but you can use the same hours much more productively, with more support around you and fewer low-value tasks stealing the day.
Once we had seen that inside our own businesses, we could not unsee it. We will not be going back.
- The same emails take the same time.
- The same admin keeps returning.
- The same bottlenecks stay in place.
- Your team works hard, but capacity barely moves.
- Quotes go out faster.
- Research is done before the call.
- Customer follow-up actually happens.
- The same-sized team gets more work through the door.
This is becoming part of what it means to run a modern business. Not a gimmick, not a side project — a new practical skill set for owners, managers and teams.
Learning AI is not about becoming a software company. It is about becoming a more capable version of the business you already are.
We help people get on board with the transition in a practical way: showing what the tools can do, finding the places they actually fit, and giving teams enough confidence to keep up as the technology changes.
That might mean using AI personally to write, plan, research, organise and think. It might mean using it inside the business to reduce admin, speed up proposals, improve customer handling, build reference documents, or make better use of knowledge that is currently trapped in people's heads.
The tools themselves are still remarkably inexpensive compared with the value they can unlock. The investment is not just the subscription. It is the learning, the confidence, and the decision to start before the gap gets wider.
Start with people. Then build the tools around them.
We run practical sessions in person or over video, from focused workshops to one- and two-day training courses with live demonstrations, exercises and reference material to keep using afterwards.
